Most advisors tell clients what they want to hear. Iyad tells them what they need to know.
Between 2000 and 2008, Iyad built Lebanon’s first securitization investment bank. With 38 deals, $1.1 billion, he singlehandedly shaped an entire industry, wrote the legal framework for it and advised on securitization and PPP laws in various emerging countries, under both civil and common law. Then, with 2008 global meltdown, investors vanished.
He got called to fix a $500 million distressed Saudi private equity firm and then as an MD for a regional investment bank, he was spearheading, as initiator and promoter, for the government, the bank and the IFC, the famous $1bn Lebanon Infrastructure Fund.
Before founding Subsidium, Iyad spent a lifetime relentlessly crafting debt and equity deals; from the intricacies of structured finance math models to the egos-filled boardrooms of cross-border M&A.
Iyad holds a dual degree in Mathematics and Economics from University Paris X and a Masters in Management from ESCP. Iyad is a prolific author with 3 published books on structured finance, history and constitutional frameworks.
